" Phantastik Creations is holding a Colouring Challenge open to all artistic people from any part of the world. "

The idea of the Contest is very simple:

There are 4 black and white illustrations shown below. Download the PSD layered files. Colour any 1 of them using any device/software of your liking. Submit the coloured version to be considered for a cash prize.

Who can apply?

Anyone with a talent for drawing. Be it professionals or amateurs, all are welcome. All you require is a minimum knowledge of working with PSD files.

Is there an age limit?

None at all! But Participants under the age of 18 must have their parent’s or legal guardian’s consent to participate in the Challenge.

What are the criteria for selection/ award assessment?

Entries will be judged based on a combination of skill and effort, the colour palette used, personal style, application of light and shadow, and overall composition.

How to participate in the Colouring Challenge?

1) Please read the Contest guidelines and TERMS & CONDITIONS thoroughly

2) Agree it by checking the box in the online Entry Form.

3) Fill in your details in the online Entry Form.

4) After you have entered all mandatory details and accepted the TERMS & CONDITIONS, click on the submit button.

5) You will be directed to the download link for all 4 black and white illustrations.

6) Note down the reference number that will be provided to you.

7) Download the PSD layered files.

8) Colour the illustrations using any drawing tool/device/programme/software comfortable to you.

9) Submit the coloured images via email, before the Submission deadline

What is the email address to submit the Entries?

The coloured illustrations must be sent to 'submissionspc23@gmail.com.' No other method of Entry will be accepted.

Please note: Participants will not be notified of the receipt of their Entries.

What should the submission email contain?

Your email Entry must include the subject line “Phantastik Creations’ Colouring Challenge”.

In the body of the email, type your – Full Name, Age (at time of Entry), Reference Number, City/State/Province/Region/Country of the Participant.

If possible, please let us know what software you used to create your Entry. Your choice of software will not affect the Contest verdict

Can I colour and submit more than 1 lineart?

Yes; you are at liberty to submit the coloured versions for all 4 illustrations. But there is a maximum of 1 prize win per person. That means, if you win a cash prize for an illustration, you will not be considered for a cash prize for your other Entries.

This rule has been formulated to give equal opportunity to other Participants

Is it possible to replace an Entry after submission?

Please note that Entries cannot be replaced once submitted. However, you may submit a maximum of 2 coloured versions of a single lineart. For instance, you submitted a coloured version of one particular illustration but then felt like submitting a different coloured version of that very same illustration. You could just email it separately clearly mentioning that it is a second version (along with other details in the body of the email). But remember only a maximum of 2 Entries per illustration is allowed.

Please be certain of your choice before submitting the coloured images.

Is there any cost to apply?

No. Participating in the Colouring Challenge is free. But we do welcome voluntary contributions. (More on that topic down below)

What are the key dates and deadlines?

Commencement of the Colouring Challenge – 03 April 2023

Deadline for entering the Challenge and downloading the files – 02 May 2023

Deadline for submitting the coloured versions – 09 May 2023

Announcement of winners – 31 May 2023

What is the Entry Format for the coloured illustrations?

Participants must submit a clear and bright picture of the illustration in format of JPEG/JPG or PNG. The illustrations must not contain any watermarks or other identifiable marks

Size resolution: a width or height of minimum 1080 pixels (greater the resolution, the better)

Size of Image File: less than 10 mb per illustration

* Participants must save the layered files they have worked on till the announcement of results. If a Participant is nominated for a prize, he/she must submit the work files for validating the submitted Entry.

What are the prizes?

There will be 1 first-place, and 1 second-place winner for each of the 4 illustrations. That means, 8 winners overall.

First prize: 5,000 INR (5,000 x 4)

Second prize: 3,500 INR (3,500 x 4)

The cash prizes will be transferred via Bank Transfer or PayPal. Alternative means of payment may also be considered, if found to be more convenient.

All national, state, and local taxes on the value of the prize are the sole responsibility of the winner.

Winners are responsible for any fees incurred when withdrawing their winnings from their Bank or PayPal account.

Can we rework the lineart illustration in any way?

You may slightly add/modify the backgrounds and introduce new elements. But don’t change the position of the existing animal characters.

Be careful not to stray from the source image that it ends up resulting in a completely different illustration.

Can I publish my work on social media or online after entering?

Yes you can, but only after the announcement of the winners. Please refrain from making public a submitted piece, before the results announcement.

Will I get any feedback for my submitted Entry?

Sorry. Phantastik Creations will not be able to provide any evaluations/ comments on the submitted Entries.

Thank you for your time and consideration in visiting our website. Phantastik Creations is an Original Animation Production House founded by (Sagun). We are based in the southern Indian state of Kerala.

The wildlife artworks seen in this Site are actually proof-of-concept illustrations for a planned adventure themed 2D animated project. The in-development project is inspired from the rich biodiversity that exist on this planet; birds, animals, reptiles and aquatic beings.

I (Sagun) set up Phantastik Creations to tell stories visually using the medium of 2D animation (films, series, shorts, music videos) as well as to foster creativity. Currently, I am in pursuit of working capital/investments to run, maintain and expand this artistic venture. We do not have a physical studio yet. Unfortunately we are not at that stage where we could raise money via equity financing/venture capital. Trying to get a bank/business loan is not an option either since there is no revenue and no steady work at present. Phantastik Creations is a relatively new endeavour, with no history upon which an evaluation of its past performance and future prospects can be made. Its ability to continue in the next twelve months is dependent upon its success in obtaining investments. (Don’t worry, Phantastik Creations has the budget in place to pay for the cash prizes)

Coming back to the Colouring Challenge, Phantastik Creations is not forcibly asking for a registration fee to take part in the Contest. As mentioned earlier, this venture was formed to cultivate creativity. That being said, we do need funds to positively move forward with this initiative. Hence, we humbly request a small voluntary contribution. This appeal should not be interpreted as a call for investment in the venture. We are not offering any equity. Neither are we promising any monetary returns.

If you are interested in our vision and wish to see us grow and launch new projects, you could help us by contributing any amount you feel fit. However little, that may be, we accept it wholeheartedly. Don’t see this as a charity. Just think of it as a charge for the services provided by Phantastik Creations. (We are collecting funds only till the end of the SUBMISSION deadline. The money will be used to invest in office space, hardware and hiring talents.)

As a gratitude for your generous support, you will receive a REWARD – a set of “16 high resolution printable images”. That includes all illustrations uploaded in this Site as well as 8 high resolution lineart images that you can take a print and colour on. Or just gift it to someone you like.

PLEASE NOTE: Donating or not donating will have no positive or negative impact on the Participant’s involvement in and winning the Colouring Challenge. The donation is entirely your choice. You can still take part in the Contest and download the files, even if you don’t want to make a contribution.

Once we receive your contribution – within a day or two – we will send you the pack of high resolution images to your email address
